These Terms of Use ("Terms", "Terms of Use") govern Your relationship with the microcommit.io website (the "Service") operated by Conjecture, Inc. ("us", "we", or "our").

Interpretation
The words of which the initial letter is capitalized have meanings defined under the following conditions. The following definitions shall have the same meaning regardless of whether they appear in singular or in plural.
Definitions
For the purposes of these Terms of Use:
Account means a unique account created for You to access our Service or parts of our Service.
Affiliate means an entity that controls, is controlled by or is under common control with a party, where "control" means ownership of 50% or more of the shares, equity interest or other securities entitled to vote for election of directors or other managing authority.

Device means any device that can access the Service such as a computer, a cellphone or a digital tablet.
Initiative means any company, non-profit, group, or other legal entity that registers on the Service to create and manage actions for Users.
Personal Data means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.
Service refers to the Website.
Terms of Use (also referred as "Terms") mean these Terms of Use that form the entire agreement between You and the Company regarding the use of the Service.
Third-party Social Media Service means any services or content (including data, information, products or services) provided by a third-party that may be displayed, included or made available by the Service.
Website refers to microcommit.io, accessible from https://microcommit.io
You means the individual accessing or using the Service, or the company, or other legal entity on behalf of which such individual is accessing or using the Service, as applicable.

You represent that you are over the age of 13. The Company does not permit those under 13 to use the Service.

Our Privacy Policy describes Our policies and procedures on the collection, use and disclosure of Your personal information when You use the Application or the Website and tells You about Your privacy rights and how the law protects You. Description of Service
microcommit.io is a service that connects individuals with initiatives seeking assistance. The Service facilitates small, clear weekly actions of 5-10 minutes per week to help initiatives mobilize their supporters more effectively.
The Service allows users to:
- Create and manage user accounts through Google authentication
- Establish relationships with initiatives
- Receive and respond to weekly actions
- Accept or reject actions with explanatory feedback
- Manage communication preferences and subscriptions
Third-Party Services
Our Service uses Google OAuth for user authentication. By using our Service, you acknowledge and agree to:
- Comply with Google's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy
- Grant us permission to access your Google account information as necessary for authentication
- Understand that Google may collect and process your data according to their own policies
- Accept that we are not responsible for Google's data practices or any issues arising from Google's services
We may use other third-party services to provide our Service. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and conditions.
User Accounts
When You create an account with Us, You must provide Us information that is accurate, complete, and current at all times. Failure to do so constitutes a breach of the Terms, which may result in immediate termination of Your account on Our Service.
You are responsible for safeguarding the password that You use to access the Service and for any activities or actions under Your password, whether Your password is with Our Service or a Third-Party Social Media Service.
You agree not to disclose Your password to any third party. You must notify Us immediately upon becoming aware of any breach of security or unauthorized use of Your account.
You may not use as a username the name of another person or entity or that is not lawfully available for use, a name or trademark that is subject to any rights of another person or entity other than You without appropriate authorization, or a name that is otherwise offensive, vulgar or obscene.
Account Deletion and Data Retention
You may request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us at contact@microcommit.io or using the account deletion feature in your dashboard.
Upon account deletion:
- Your account will be permanently deactivated within 30 days of your request
- Your personal data will be deleted from our active systems
- Some data may be retained for legal compliance, fraud prevention, or service improvement purposes
- Anonymized data may be retained for analytics and service improvement
We will retain your data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in our Privacy Policy or as required by law.
Data Processing and Privacy Rights
We process your personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for users in the European Union.
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of Access: You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you

When you subscribe to an initiative through our Service, we will share certain information about you with that initiative. This information includes:
- Your profile name
- Your email address
- Your subscription preferences
- Your responses to the initiative's actions
By subscribing to an initiative, you acknowledge and agree that this information will be provided to them. Initiatives may use this information to contact you, manage their subscriber lists, and communicate with you about their actions and related matters.
If you wish to change your data sharing preferences or request that an initiative delete your information, you should contact that initiative directly. Each initiative is responsible for managing the data we share with them in accordance with their own privacy policies and applicable laws.
You can unsubscribe from any initiative at any time through your account dashboard, which will prevent future actions from that initiative. However, the initiative may retain information that was previously shared with them.
Terms for Initiatives
This section applies to Initiatives that register on the Service to create and manage actions. By registering an Initiative on the Service, you agree to the following additional terms.
Initiative Registration
Any company, non-profit, group, or other legal entity may apply to register as an Initiative on the Service. By registering, you represent and warrant that:
- You have the authority to bind the Initiative to these Terms
- The information you provide about your Initiative is accurate and complete
- Your Initiative will comply with all applicable laws and regulations
- Your Initiative has a privacy policy that complies with applicable data protection laws
Initiative Responsibilities
As an Initiative using our Service, you are responsible for:
- The content and appropriateness of all actions you create
- Ensuring your actions comply with applicable laws and these Terms
- Maintaining your privacy policy and handling user data in accordance with applicable data protection laws
- Responding appropriately to data subject requests from users who have shared their information with you
- The actions of any administrators or users who access the Service on behalf of your Initiative
Prohibited Initiative Activities
Initiatives may not use the Service to:
- Send spam, unsolicited communications, or abuse the Service's communication features
- Harass, abuse, or harm users or other Initiatives
- Collect user data for purposes unrelated to the legitimate operation of your Initiative
- Sell, rent, or otherwise commercialize user data obtained through the Service
- Create actions that are deceptive, fraudulent, or misleading
- Impersonate other Initiatives or misrepresent your Initiative's identity or affiliation
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
- Engage in any activity that could damage, disable, or impair the Service
- Circumvent any security features or access controls of the Service
Initiative Termination and Data Deletion
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any Initiative account and delete all associated data at our sole discretion, without prior notice, for any reason, including but not limited to:
- Violation of these Terms of Use
- Abuse of the Service or its users
- Suspected fraudulent, illegal, or harmful activity
- Extended periods of inactivity
- Any other reason we deem necessary to protect the Service, its users, or third parties
Upon termination of an Initiative account:
- All actions, data, and content associated with the Initiative will be permanently deleted
- Users who followed the Initiative will no longer receive actions from it
- The Initiative will lose access to all user data previously shared with it through the Service
- We are not obligated to provide copies of any data or content prior to deletion
Initiatives may also request voluntary account deletion by contacting us at contact@microcommit.io.
Initiative Indemnification
Initiatives agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Company from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from the Initiative's use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.
User Responsibilities and Acceptable Use
You are responsible for Your use of the Service and for any consequences thereof, including compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and these Terms of Use.
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms of Use. You agree not to use the Service:
- In any way that violates any applicable federal, state, local or international law or regulation
- To transmit, or procure the sending of, any advertising or promotional material, including any "junk mail", "chain letter" or "spam" or any other similar solicitation
- To impersonate or attempt to impersonate the Company, a Company employee, another user, or any other person or entity
- To engage in any other conduct that restricts or inhibits anyone's use or enjoyment of the Service, or which, as determined by us, may harm the Company or users of the Service or expose them to liability
- To use any robot, spider or other automatic device, process or means to access the Service for any purpose, including monitoring or copying any of the material on the Service
- To introduce any viruses, trojan horses, worms, logic bombs or other material which is malicious or technologically harmful
- To attempt to gain unauthorized access to, interfere with, damage or disrupt any parts of the Service, the server on which the Service is stored, or any server, computer or database connected to the Service
- To attack the Service via a denial-of-service attack or a distributed denial-of-service attack
- To otherwise attempt to interfere with the proper working of the Service
Communication and Notifications
By using our Service, you consent to receive communications from us, including:
- Weekly actions and updates
- Service updates and announcements
- Account-related notifications
- Security alerts and support messages
- Marketing communications (you can opt out of these by going to the account page)
You may unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time using the unsubscribe link provided in our emails or by contacting us directly. However, you may not opt out of service-related communications that are necessary for the proper functioning of your account.
We may use various methods to deliver these communications, including email, in-app notifications, and other electronic means.
Intellectual Property
The Service and its original content, features and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of the Company and its licensors. The Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws of both the Country and foreign countries.
Our trademarks and trade dress may not be used in connection with any product or service without the prior written consent of the Company.
The Service may contain content that is protected by copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret or other proprietary rights and laws. Except as expressly authorized by the Company, you agree not to modify, copy, frame, scrape, rent, lease, loan, sell, distribute or create derivative works based on the Service or the Service Content, in whole or in part.
User Content
Our Service allows You to post, link, store, share and otherwise make available certain information, text, graphics, videos, or other material ("Content"). You are responsible for the Content that You post to the Service, including its legality, reliability, and appropriateness.
By posting Content to the Service, You grant Us the right and license to use, modify, publicly perform, publicly display, reproduce, and distribute such Content on and through the Service. You retain any and all of Your rights to any Content You submit, post or display on or through the Service and You are responsible for protecting those rights. You represent and warrant that: the Content is Yours (You own it) or You have the right to use it and grant Us the rights and license as provided in these Terms, and the posting of Your Content on or through the Service does not violate the privacy rights, publicity rights, copyrights, contract rights or any other rights of any person.

- Impersonates any person or entity or falsely states or otherwise misrepresents Your affiliation with a person or entity
- Contains false or misleading information

Disclaimers
THE INFORMATION ON THIS SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" BASIS. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THIS COMPANY:
- EXCLUDES ALL REPRESENTATIONS, WARRANTIES, CONDITIONS AND TERMS WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED (AND INCLUDING THE CONDITIONS IMPLIED BY STATUTES OF SATISFACTORY QUALITY AND FITNESS FOR PURPOSE AND NON INFRINGEMENT)
- MAKES NO WARRANTY THAT THE SERVICE WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS, OR BE AVAILABLE ON AN UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE BASIS
- MAKES NO WARRANTY REGARDING THE QUALITY, ACCURACY, TIMELINESS, TRUTHFULNESS, COMPLETENESS OR RELIABILITY OF ANY CONTENT
THE COMPANY DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE, INFORMATION, CONTENT, MATERIALS, PRODUCTS (INCLUDING SOFTWARE) OR OTHER SERVICES INCLUDED ON OR OTHERWISE MADE AVAILABLE TO YOU THROUGH THE SERVICE, THEIR SERVERS, OR ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS SENT FROM THE COMPANY ARE FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
Limitation of Liability

Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless the Company and its licensee and licensors, and their employees, contractors, agents, officers and directors, from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs or debt, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees), resulting from or arising out of:
- Your use and access of the Service, by You or any person using Your account and password

- Your violation of any third-party right, including without limitation any copyright, property, or privacy right
- Any claim that Your use of the Service caused damage to a third party
This defense and indemnification obligation will survive these Terms and Your use of the Service.
Termination
We may terminate or suspend Your Account immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if You breach the Terms of Use.
Upon termination, Your right to use the Service will cease immediately. If You wish to terminate Your Account, You may simply discontinue using the Service.
All provisions of the Terms of Use which by their nature should survive termination shall survive termination, including, without limitation, ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity and limitations of liability.
Governing Law
The laws of the Country, excluding its conflicts of law rules, shall govern this Terms and Your use of the Service. Your use of the Application may also be subject to other local, state, national, or international laws.
Disputes Resolution
If You have any concern or dispute about the Service, You agree to first try to resolve the dispute informally by contacting the Company.
For any dispute that cannot be resolved informally, You agree to submit to binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. The arbitration shall be conducted in Delaware, United States, and the decision of the arbitrator shall be final and binding.
Changes to These Terms of Use
We reserve the right, at Our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material We will make reasonable efforts to provide at least 30 days notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at Our sole discretion.
By continuing to access or use Our Service after those revisions become effective, You agree to be bound by the revised terms. If You do not agree to the new terms, in whole or in part, please stop using the website and the Service.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held to be unenforceable or invalid, such provision will be changed and interpreted to accomplish the objectives of such provision to the greatest extent possible under applicable law and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
